When and Gone

Hey this one is written by my friend Altaf, I liked it and posted here, hope you all like it. Kudos to Altaf :-)

When

The school reopened in June,

And we settled in our new desks and

benches!

When
we queued up in book depot,

And got our new books

and notes!

When
we wanted two Sundays and no Mondays, yet

managed to line up daily for the morning prayers…

We learnt writing with

slates and pencils, and

Progressed To fountain pens and ball pens and then Micro tips!

When
we began drawing with crayons and evolved to

Color pencils and finally sketch pens!

When
we started calculating

first with tables and then with

Clarke’s tables and advanced to

Calculators and computers!

When
we chased one another in the

corridors in Intervals, and returned to the classrooms

Drenched in sweat!

When
we had lunch in classrooms, corridors,

Playgrounds,

under the trees and even in cycle sheds!

When
all the colors in the world,

Decorated the campus on the Second Saturdays!

When
a single P.T. period in the week’s Time Table,

Was awaited more eagerly than the monsoons!

When
cricket was played with writing pads as bats,

And Neckties and socks rolled into balls!

When
few played

‘kabadi’ and ‘Kho-Kho’ in scorching sun,

While others simply played

‘book cricket’ in the

Confines of classroom!

Of fights but no conspiracies,

Of Competitions but seldom jealousy!

When
we used to

watch Live Cricket telecast,

In the opposite house in Intervals and Lunch breaks!

When
few rushed at 3:45 to

‘Conquer’ window seats in our School bus!

While
few others had ‘Big Fun’, ‘peppermint’ ,

‘kulfi’, ‘ milk ice !’ and ‘sharbat !’ at 4o Clock!

Gone

Gone are the days

Of Sports Day,

and the annual School Day ,

And the one-month long

preparations for them.

Gone are the days

Of the stressful Quarterly,

Half Yearly and Annual Exams, And the most

enjoyed holidays after them!

Gone are the days

Of tenth and twelfth standards, when

We Spent almost the whole year writing revision tests!

We learnt,

We enjoyed,

We played,

We won,

We lost,

We laughed,

We cried,

We fought,

We thought.

With so much fun in them, so many friends,

So much experience, all this and more!

Gone are the days

When we used

to talk for hours with our friends!

Now we don’t have time to say a `Hi’!

Gone are the days

When we played games on the road!

Now we

Code on the road with laptop!

Gone are the days

When we saw stars  Shining at Night!

Now we see stars when our code doesn’t Work!

Gone are the days

When we sat to chat with Friends on grounds!

Now we chat in chat rooms……!

Gone are the days

Where we

studied just to pass!

Now we study to save our job!

Gone are the days

Where we had no money in our pockets and still fun filled on our hearts!!

Now we have the atm as well as credit card but with an empty heart!!

Gone are the days

Where we shouted on the road!

Now we don’t shout even at home

Gone are the days

Where we got lectures from all!

Now we give lectures to all… like the one I’m doing now….!!

Gone are the days

But not the memories, which will be

Lingering in our hearts for ever and ever and

Ever and ever and ever …..

Gone are the Days…. But still there are lot more Days to come in our Life!!

NO MATTER HOW BUSY WE ARE,

DONT FORGET TO

LIVE THE LIFE THAT STILL

EXISTS………

Passing Clouds

•July 21, 2009 • 9 Comments

Life is like a sky and the incidents and people are like passing clouds they just come and go , some will have lifelong effect and others just fade ….!

Recently I had two such incidents in my life. This week when I was in Vienna, the first incident happened when I was in need, I was roaming on the streets of Vienna alone as most of my friends were busy I was alone and admiring the beauty of the city. There was no one to guide and I was disappointed as I could not find even a single person to take picture of me as this place was wonderful. All of sudden when I was taking picture of Hofburg, I saw a man walking towards me and I was very happy to see him and requested him to take picture of me , as I talked to him I came to know that he is from my country and my state and this surprises me, I couldn’t find a single person before but now I taking to a person who speaks in my native language and that s life I guess full of surprises, we really had good time and took lot of pictures , roaming for 5 hours it was time to depart and there is not much of emotion between us while departing. But when I came back I had this very happy feeling of meeting a good person, at this point of time I realized that I forgot to ask his name, then I realized that he is just a passing cloud but a precious one I guess. I will never forget this one and hope to meet him again if my destiny permits.

The next day I met another passing cloud; this one was really special as it helped me to fulfill one of my dreams. I always wondered to see my national flag and salute it in foreign country, but I never got a chance but I knew that in UNO city there is national flag so I thought I would go there to have view of our great national flag, but to my disappointment I came to know its restricted place and not everyone is allowed. But this dream came to true because of one nice person. As I planned to go to UNO city in Vienna, I went there and searching for the entrance and asking desperately every one if there is any chance to enter in to the UNO city Vienna but to my disappointment I could not find a way to enter but I never gave up I went to the entrance as a last hope I tried to talk to the security guard and I explained him how eager I am, but disappointed again. I turned back, as I was coming back I heard a voice and I saw a man as we introduced to each other I came to know that he is from Kerala and was working there as security head since 17 years . As I explained why I was there he said he would allow me for 5 minutes. That’s it; I entered into the city, took a few snaps of our flag, of course me also. It’s really a nice experience and can’t forget his help by saying the word simply THANK YOU. He is also a passing cloud but really a most precious one who crossed his limits by permitting me into the UNO city by taking some risk for a stranger like me. I will never forget this passing cloud and the funny thing is, here also I forgot to ask his name and I think this is a habit of mine and really I like it. Because I can make a perfect definition for passing clouds now in my native language (anyone can translate it).

The definition for passing cloud is …

Merupula ravadam…meripichadam… Mayamavvadam.

Fear

•July 4, 2009 • 4 Comments

One should have respect to fear and have to satisfy it. So many will respect it in so many ways. In my life still I am respecting it mostly in this way.

Actually when I was 4 years old, I don’t know whats the meaning of a fear, but first time I was sensed from my class teacher, and every time she is used to afraid me by saying I will kick on your ass if you don’t do this home work and it happened so many times, and I started to afraid of my class teacher and said to my Mom I don’t wanna go school because of my class teacher and she said don’t afraid of any one, and I began to fear for home work. After some days I am used to it and there is no fear for home work.

But suddenly I sensed the real meaning of a fear, this one is from my Mom.

One day she took me to the horror movie called KALA RATRI (Its my 1st horror movie) along with her friends. Still I remembered this movie and can’t able to watch again. While movie is going on  suddenly I saw a devil on screen and started screaming and done so many nasty things on my Mom’s lap (Mom I am sorry for this).  After that day I didn’t have any sleep with fever, no school (thanks for the movie).  From that day onwards I am afraid of horror movies.

Until BTech, I didn’t saw any horror movie, but one day my stupid friend Nandu took me to the movie called BHOOTH with out my interest and started to watch the movie by holding his hands. After seeing the scenes of Urmila screaming e.t.c, again I cant able to sleep due to Nandu who is the main reason by taking me to the movie.

One night after my semester exams as usually I am sleeping in my room alone, suddenly at mid night I got a dream which is similar to the scene in Bhooth movie and I screamed like Urmila  and got up from bed and ran to the street.

On the street there is a person who is walking alone at mid night, and surroundings are fully dark and there is only one street light which made me ran to the bathroom. I can’t able to forget this scene through out my life. Still I am getting this scene in my dreams and makes me feel uncomfortable. And still I cant able to see horror movies alone but have to watch with some one by holding their hands, I don’t know how to over come this and finally stopped to watch horror movies.

But I like this feeling, because one should enjoy all the emotions in his life, and have to satisfy the emotions.

One should have respect to fear, I respect it like this.

Patience from a Unforgettable Day

•July 3, 2009 • 3 Comments

Usually patience is very important for human…but some times the human losses it and miss the most valuable things, and after some time he convinces himself by saying..Every thing happens for a good reason. Lets see whether it is a good or bad by convincing or making fool by himself.

Yesterday evening when I am going to bed, I am just  rewinding the things what happened today and memorizing some golden moments in my past life to make myself happy to kill my lonely ness. But suddenly after seeing the calender I was shocked and suddenly went to trans for a moment, because it is a very unfortunate day for my friend who is a clone of me and suddenly my mind started to dig all the things that happened on the day to him which is exactly 4 years back i.e. on 02.07.2005.

After completing his bachelors, he is preparing to go for abroad not for himself, just to make his dream come true..i.e. to make his love success, but one day suddenly while talking he lost his patience and scolded that gal for the first time which became a seed to separate each other. And then differences started coming between each other, the rules and conditions came between them just to talk also. But the guy tried his level best to convince her but no use. With these tensions he didn’t wrote his TOEFL well (by God’s grace he scored good marks in the TOEFL). And the next day after the completion of his TOEFL, they quarreled each other like anything and silently departed on 02.07.2005, which is unfortunate day in his life.

The guy cant able to digest the departed moment and turned him like a mad person who cried like anything, shouted on the roads like a mad person, who cant able to listen good words from his friends, scolded his well wished ones for unknown reasons, and made him to walk alone every day on the highways at early mornings…because it is his first love.

So finally the point is due to loss of patience he scolded the gal, which became a starting point to break up the relation with a good gal. So every one have to be patient while talking with his closed ones also.

There have to be patience in waiting, and that patience comes from true love only. And that love can change anyone.

Here the love changed him a lot, but unfortunately the love is a failure one, it made him to learn patience which is more important in life, so Every thing happens for a good reason is a true saying.
